Welcome to the Sycamore Institute

The Sycamore Institute is the first 501(c)(3) foreign policy-focused and national security-focused think tank run entirely by college undergraduates. The Sycamore Institute consists of several student-led branches from prestigious institutions across the United States, including American University, Boston University, University of California - Berkeley, George Mason University, and New York University.

The Sycamore Institute was founded in December of 2019 by students passionate about sharing their views on foreign policy topics ranging from National and International Security, Economics, Global Public Health, and Energy Security. Today, we remain true to that vision as a nonpartisan organization seeking pragmatic solutions for today's most intractable issues. Our National Organization continues to publish op-eds and policy memos covering topics at the forefront of U.S. and International Security in all its facets. In conjunction with this, we also host events with practitioners from all facets of American power such as former and current U.S. Military, Foreign Service, U.S. Intelligence Community, Think Tanks, and NGOs.
